Grant Guidelines
Please note: Grant proposal submission deadline for 2010 is December 30st, at noon. Grant proposals must be received by that time. See "Grant Application Form" for more information.
The TCF mission is to enhance and develop the quality of life in Trinidad and Las Animas County by building a culture of giving, and by providing grants in the (five) areas of education, health and wellness, recreation, historic preservation and communication. Your grant proposal must address one of these five issues.
TCF seeks to fund programs and activities that significantly benefit the people and community of Trinidad and Las Animas County, and that further the mission of the TCF. Donations to individuals will not be considered. The TCF also does not consider applications for operating expenses; however, staff and other project costs may be included as a portion of the project budget. At this time, grant proposals requesting more than $5,000 will not be considered.
The TCF is a non-denominational philanthropic program; any 501 (c)(3) organization or organization partnering with a 501 (c)(3) organization may apply for a grant. Grants to programs sponsored by religious organizations may be funded if the program or activity is clearly distinguished from religious activities and if the program or activity is available to all denominations.
To request funding from the TCF, you must provide us with some information about your organization, program or event. By providing all the required elements, you will be giving our Board of Directors everything needed to review your proposal in a fair & thorough manner.
Each grant recipient will be required to submit a short Final Report to the TCF Board of Directors. Final reports are due within one month after the completion of a grantee’s program. If an extension is needed, you must submit your request in writing to the TCF Grant Administrator.
Declined grant requests are eligible for resubmission in the next grant cycle. A new application must be completed and submitted at that time.
Please note: we want to help you make your proposal as strong as possible. We urge you to call the Foundation office at 719 846-3943 or email the grants administrator at info@TrinidadCF.org prior to submitting a proposal.
