What is the Trinidad Community Foundation?

The Trinidad Community Foundation connects people who care with causes that matter. As a tax-exempt, nonprofit public charity, TCF was created in 2006 by and for the people of Las Animas County.

The Foundation builds permanent and non-permanent funds, through gifts contributed by many donors. From these funds, TCF makes grants and engages in community leadership activities to address a wide variety of current and long-term needs.

The TCF mission is to enhance and develop the quality of life in Trinidad and Las Animas County be building a culture of philanthropy and by providing grants in the areas of education, health and wellness, recreation, historic preservation, and communication.

What does the TCF do?

TCF builds funds.By establishing a fund or donating to an existing fund within TCF, donors can contribute their gifts of cash and appreciated property toward a variety of causes. Permanent funds benefit Trinidad and Las Animas County forever and help to create personal legacies. Other funds connect donors to issues or organizations that matter to them.

TCF makes grants.The Foundation's established funds support deserving community groups working in education, health and wellness, recreation, historic preservation, and communication. Other permanent or special funds support the causes our donors care most about.

TCF provides community leadership.By promoting collaboration, building community capacity, and serving as a catalyst for positive change, TCF enhances our quality of life.
